A former Los Angeles publicist and PR director for a large internet company in Amsterdam, Lori had been doing CrossFit fundamentals with Head Coach Wayne Theron for two years while training for long-distance SUP racing. After doing a Karen (150 wall balls) in June 2013, and shedding a few tears, Wayne suggested that Lori and her husband open a CrossFit box so he could kick their asses every day. Six months later, RIG CROSSFIT opened (December 2013) with an expansion of a second box in November 2015. Lori’s greatest satisfaction is seeing the transformation of members after just a few months – physique, strength, health and overall confidence – and building a strong community that is CrossFit.
Wayne has a long history of competitive athletics; aged nine he was racing motor bikes winning South African MotorSport 2000 'Sportsman of the Year' and BMX 'King of Dirt'. From age 13 he played rugby for Harlequin Rugby Club and Pretoria Rugby Club. A champion 100m sprinter and high jumper, Wayne was also on the South African Snowboarding Team. After an injury ended his snowboarding career, Wayne qualified as an ISSA personal trainer in Dubai, teaching a very popular beach boot camp and training private clients. Introduced to CrossFit in 2011, Wayne is passionate about teaching CrossFit and coaching individuals to reach their ultimate potential - his biggest thrill is getting clients their first muscle-up. As Head Coach, Wayne is our programmer for all classes and oversees all coaching for RIG CROSSFIT. In his spare time you will find him on the DMX motocross track in Dubai.
